Cedar Rapids teachers tour local businesses for real world lessons
About 500 educators from the College Community School District visited 32 Cedar Rapids area businesses in a Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance partnership to study the local economy. Teachers shared experiences with peers to build real world curricula as the school year begins. Prairie High English teacher Macee Tracy cited the move as part of an innovation push. Superintendent Doug Wheeler stressed exposing students to diverse career paths to help them dream big.
