Brown Withdraws from Race for Iowa Senate

Ag Dept awards $14 million national disease lab at Ames

The Agriculture Department awarded a $14,331,000 contract to Henry C. Beck Buildings Inc of Dallas to construct a national Animal Disease Laboratory at Ames Iowa. The complex includes an administration building five laboratory blocks central heating emergency power plants and related facilities on farm land near Iowa State College east of Ames. The GSA says the isolated units will support simultaneous livestock and poultry disease research with built in safety to prevent infection.
