Butter Market Buoyed by Government Relief Buying
Government purchases supported the butter market last week in New York and Chicago, with about 2,800 Chicago and 2,000 New York jobs bought midweek. Officials aim to prevent price declines, though Chicago remains weak and storage is limited. U.S. may also buy eggs to steady prices, with planned purchases of 400 000 to 500 000 cases before June 30, while imports and retail demand influence futures.
