Iowa City schools warn of 1.3 million loss from vouchers
Iowa City Community School District officials say private school enrollment via Education Savings Accounts reduces revenue and funding authority by about 1.3 million as it faces a 6.5 percent 195 million general fund budget for 2024-25. District CFO Adam Kurth notes 140 students switched to private schools last year, with 70 to 80 more possibly leaving absent ESA funding.
