Umbrella History Tells Of Whale Bone Ribs In School
In a Hollow Tree School lesson Uncle Wiggily and students explore early umbrellas. Mr Rat shows a 200 year old umbrella with whalebone ribs while debunking bad luck myths about opening umbrellas indoors. The tale notes the evolution to steel ribs and silk coverings. Research on nitrogen in soils closes the excerpt.
