George H. Lowe, local road builder, told Waltonians at the YMCA that motorists will soon drive from Alaska through Russia to Paris. He warned Iowa trails behind in primary roads, cites Lincoln highway changes, and notes 8,500 miles of primary roads plus 85,000 miles of local roads with 1,785 miles undeveloped in southern Iowa.
