Iowans plan to adopt more Vietnamese orphans

The Iowa couple and FCVN Iowa City branch president and secretary expect to bring back more children than planned from Vietnam. Fireworks Explosion Suit Filed in Cedar Rapids

A Cedar Rapids woman filed a $100,000 lawsuit over injuries her daughter Diane Feinberg suffered in a fireworks explosion. Frankie M. Brown names the city of Cedar Rapids, the Veterans Memorial commission, and the Cedar Rapids Fire Department Welfare Assn as defendants in Linn district court. The petition states the fireworks were collected at Veterans stadium after a welfare association display on June 26 and exploded at the home at 1101 Third Avenue SW on July 5. damages sought include $20,000 for medical expenses and loss of services and $80,000 for the daughter.

Nursing Unit to Run Elderly Care Clinics in Linn County

Effective April 1 the elderly care clinics once run by the Junior League will be sponsored by Public Health Nursing Assn with nursing supervision by the Nursing Assn. The Linn Council on Aging and volunteers will handle hospitality. Clinics run four Fridays monthly at sites in Linn County for residents 60 plus, with no charge or appointment needed.
