The Linn County unemployment rate climbed 1.2 points in February to 5.4 percent, with 4 200 workers idle. The Iowa Employment Security commission cites manufacturing layoffs and seasonal trends, noting February 1974 had 2 000 idle workers and forecasting similar March figures but higher employment in April and May.
