He studied at St Bonaventure and St Francis seminaries, was ordained in Indianapolis in 1894, and served at St George Cincinnati St Lawrence Fayette St Boniface Louisville Our Lady of Sorrows Kansas City and Mt Alverno. He directed the St John passion play begun in 1918 and led casts during Lent.
