Christ Child Day Nursery: Sacred Heart Convent Sodalities Work
The Christ Child day nursery on Findlay Street Cincinnati was established in 1915 by the Children of Mary sodality of the Convent of the Sacred Heart with Sister Blandina guiding the effort. It grew from a small building to larger quarters on Race Street and finally Findlay Street, funded by sodality events and parent contributions, and later supported by the Cincinnati War Chest and Community Chest. The seven member board is led by Mrs. William J. Gessing with long time staff including Mrs. A. M. Grier director until 1950, and Mrs. Maureen Hamburg current head teacher. the center serves 30 to 35 children, operates on a sliding fee scale, and is affiliated with Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese.

Reds Expel Priests From Hong Kong Jesuits

Lauzon had been under house arrest for two years at Fenghsien near Soochow and imprisoned last September after a 40 day interrogation.
