Local church groups plan May gatherings and socials

The Ladies auxiliary of St. Aloysius orphan society marks its 37th anniversary May 25 at the Read ing road orphanage with Benediction at 2 30 followed by a meeting and refreshments. Other parish groups announce spring card parties and social events across Lib erty Vine streets and Glendale with Mass Benediction and reservations.

Camp Fire Leaders Plan Annual Spring Luncheon

Camp Fire leaders and parish representatives meet on Thursday May 29 at 10 a.m. at The Fontbonne in Cincinnati. Mrs John Comer retiring chairman will present the new chairman and cochairman. The group will discuss next year’s plan and retreat details followed by a noon luncheon.

Fr Alfred Stritch to speak at Kappa Gamma Pi tea

Father Alfred G. Stritch of Our Lady of Cincinnati college will discuss "Artists Are Human" at the Cincinnati chapter of Kappa Gamma Pi silver tea. The event Sunday May 25 at 2 30 p m in the Catholic lending library Eighth and Walnut street. Mrs Otto Patnick to introduce. Proceeds support the chapter scholarship fund for outstanding sophomores at Our Lady of Cincinnati and Mt St Joseph colleges.

Three Cincinnati Hospital Officials To Attend Convention

Three hospital officials from the Cincinnati archdiocese will take key roles at the 37th annual Catholic Hospital convention in Cleveland. Sister Minalia of St. Elizabeth's Dayton will preside at the Nursing Service and Personnel Department sectional meeting. Sister Mary George of Our Lady of Mercy Mariemont will participate in the same session. Sister M Ethel of Our Lady of Mercy Mariemont will discuss the Dietitian’s role in small hospitals.

Priests' Housekeepers Hold 22nd Annual Retreat

State housekeepers of priests will attend their 22nd annual retreat at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation from June 23 evening to June 27 morning. St Agnes Sodality Enrolls Cincinnati Members June 2

New members of the Ladies' Sodality of St. Agnes church in Cincinnati will be enrolled after the 7 45 p.m. church service on Monday June 2. They will receive Communion at the 8 o'clock Mass on Sunday June 1. A social follows the meeting led by Mrs Andrew Fox membership chairman Mrs Emeran Tillar and Mrs Joseph Dolan cochairmen and Mrs Jo Ralstin hostess. Nun Urges Longer Retreats for Young Women

Mother Mary of St. Fintan at the Convent of Mary Reparatrix in Clifton urges young women to use summer vacations for extended retreats. Six to eight day sessions are available via the retreat house CA 4624. The Cincinnati Catholic Women's association elected four new directors at the May 14 meeting. New board members are Mrs. Clarence Arnold, Mrs. Joseph G. Crotty, Mrs. Frank J. St Rita’s School to Honor Patron at Rites May 2

St Rita’s School for the Deaf Glendale Milford Road north of Lockland hosts a May pilgrimage in honor of St Rita. Processions run hourly 9 30 a m to 2 30 p m with Rosary recitations and relic blessing.
