No Divorces Permitted By South African Savages
A Catholic university anthropologist reports on Bushmen life in South Africa noting insoluble marriage, a Supreme Being, and scarce witchcraft. The study from 1984-85 estimates about 10,500 Bushmen and Hottentots, with hunters and foragers, distinct from other Africans by skin and build. The narrative contrasts tribal myths as explanatory fables and observes limited agriculture or cattle keeping.
