Plan Unique Pilgrimmage In Lytle Park December 21

Dayton unveils its first life size Nativity scene on the Montgomery County courthouse grounds as part of Christ in Christmas campaign. The display, supported by the Chamber of Commerce and local firms, urges citizens to choose religious cards, tell children the Christmas story, view faith themed decorations, and attend church services. The Dayton Deanery Council of Catholic Women helped place a crib at Good Samaritan Hospital and a Nativity in the City Loan and Savings window.

Lytle Park Nativity Crib Draws Hundreds Each Christmas

Cincinnati's Lytle Park crib, built with great care by A L Dolly Heger and a crew, attracts about 100 000 visitors yearly. The scene features life size figures and real animals guarded by shepherds, with dozens of choirs performing from Dec 19 to Jan 3. Sponsored by Western and Southern Life, the exhibit reflects Heger and Williams efforts to keep Christmas focused on its religious meaning amid urban change.
