Over 150 Casper visitors joined Lander for the Fourth with a large parade featuring the Casper band Indians cowpunchers and floats. A fast Schoel Dalton fight drew crowds as Ed munds lost a decision to the Wisconsin Kid. Schoel knocked Dalton out in the fifth. Miss Nickolson won the ladies relay on Chas Irwin’s horses. many rode Old Steamboat but faced misfortune.

Old Prospector Gene Dies After Decline Following Pneumonia
George Donnelly, a famed Colorado prospector over seventy, died Monday after a long health decline following last winter's pneumonia. He uncovered rich mines, helped discover Miner's Delight in South Pass, prospected in Canada, rose and fell financially, and left a wife in Glenwood Springs and son James in town. The funeral was held Tuesday in the local cemetery.

County Board Finishes Five Day Session On Tax Rise
County commissioners concluded a five day session as a board of equalization. Assessed value for Natrona county jumped from 2 803 484 in 1908 to 6 258 728 this year. Salaries for county officers will rise and deputies be allowed. New poll tax law adds 654 to the fund. Grazing land valued at five dollars per acre and irrigated lands at forty five dollars. Eight districts voted to join the high school district numbers 2 8 4 9 10 11 12 and 16. District 8 merged into 2 due to teaching months. Trustees named for first year: W. S. Kimball P. C. Nicalysen T. C. Speers Ambrose Hemingway E. L. McGraugh A. L. Veitch. Tuition rules set for pupils from voting district. outsiders may seek entering arrangements. Plan viewed as largely unanimous and promising. Board will arrange a building for the new high school.
