Wolton's Blaze Destroys Livery Barn Belonging to Marquis Co
A Sunday evening fire leveled the Wolton livery barn owned by Marquis & Co with harness, feed, and hay lost. Stock was saved as the blaze appeared to threaten the town and Riverton prepared to assist with their chemical engine before the flames were controlled.

Clearwater Man Arrested For Attacking Wife In Kitchen
A man named Clearwater was caught Friday afternoon beating and choking his wife in the kitchen behind the Home restraint where she worked. Bystanders rescued the woman as she screamed, and the assailant was jailed after trial before Judge Tubbs. The couple had two children, and the husband spent most earnings on drink. He was fined $25 and sentenced to 30 days in jail.
