Progressives Refuse Fusion at Wyoming Conference

The Progressive State committee and leaders met at the Natrona hotel, chaired by F. N. Gottlieb, with Wm. E. Cadmus in attendance. They adopted resolutions opposing fusion with Republicans or Democrats, endorsing nonpartisan bids where possible and outlining plans for a Wyoming Progressive ticket statewide.

Wyoming Electric Ready for Public Opening

The Wyoming Electric company reports its new plant nearly complete with poles and wires in place. A formal opening is planned next week with invited public visits, music, and demonstrations showing electricity uses in the home.

New Club Rooms at Casper Lodge Moose Promising

The Loyal Order of Moose in Casper fitted a new club room with reading tables card tables pool and billiards and leather lounging chairs. A reception is planned for March 4 with a ladies program to benefit the club. John McFayden and General Manager Badger toured Basin oil fields last week to prospect. Joerger Cooper tailors announce a new spring and summer woolen samples at 125 First Ave.

Brewery to Be Built in Casper This Year

Casper will see a new brewery begun within weeks near Center street three blocks west of First Avenue and north of the Chicago and Northwestern round house. The plant, costing about 100000 dollars, will employ at least twenty men and is backed by a group of Sioux City and Los Angeles investors led by W C Metager and Jas H Kennedy.

Man Fatally Run Over by Locomotive Near Stroud Station

Avery Clark of this city was struck by a locomotive near Stroud station on the Northwestern furthered to Casper and taken to the Private hospital. His left arm and leg were broken and his abdomen and chest crushed. He had a history of brain trouble and told doctors he was being pursued by men intending to kill him.

The Etaviro club girls invited chosen escorts for a theater outing at Iris theater then returned to Marjorie Keith residence for card games and light midnight refreshments. German and English Lutheran church nears completion

The German and English Lutheran church at Grant and Cunningham Streets is under roof and near completion. Plastering will start soon and bell tower work will begin immediately. Folding seats with 150 capacity are ordered and will be installed after interior finish. Occupancy expected by the flat of April.

Sarah Ruth Bates Company Brought to Iris Theater

The Sarah Ruth Bates Company, an all women troupe of musicians and comedians, comes to Casper tonight. They have played in the East this season to favorable press and are highly recommended by audiences who have seen them. The Kates company appears as the fourth entertainment of the Midland course.

Mrs Wettlin Takes Train After Telegram About Ill Mother

Mrs Herbert G Wettlin of 200 North Freed Street departed for Clairmont Minnesota Saturday after receiving a telegram reporting her mother is seriously ill.

Contest now growing hot with 50 000 extra votes offer

For ten days from February 21 to March 2 2014 candidates may earn 50 000 extra ballots by turning in ten new or old yearly subscriptions to the Paris. The initial vote tally shows Mrs. George Frees of Casper with 25000 ahead, Eleanor Dalton 2400, Lillian Peck 21600 of Salt Creek, Lena Bailey 18820 of Casper, Laura Dillon 10060, and Hessie Stephens 9000. Analysts warn results will shift by Thursday as entrants rally and campaigns intensify. Candidates urge supporters to call in subscriptions to gain the Grand Prize share.
