Postage Card Designs Include Lincoln Grant and McKinley

Washington reports approve new postage cards to appear January 1 with McKinley likeness on standard card and Lincoln on small card for index use. A two cent International card will feature General Grant, with a Washington portrait on the reply half Martha Washington on the stamp. Secretary Knox says if inquiries verify facts in Grace and Cannon case the U S will demand reparation from Nicaragua.

Sheepherder Frozen to Death in Wyoming Cold

Coroner E B Fitch reports J C Miller a Swan Land and Cattle Company sheepherder died from self neglect after being found face down in the snow at Blue Grass pens thirty five miles east of Rock River Miller last seen Sunday inadequately clad. He planned to buy dry farming land near Grover Colo with Frank Kuykendall of Wamatuser Wyoming. Miller aged about 49 worked for the Swan company since August.

Wool Growers' Convention Heads to Ogden in 1910

Officers of the National Wool Growers Association return from Ogden Utah where plans for the forty sixth annual convention to be held January 6 7 and 8 1910 are completed Ogden prepares for a large attendance and the fourth annual mid winter sheep show as a major West exhibition with prize sheep entering from the United States Canada and England exhibitors may move from the Ogden show to Denver for the Western National Livestock show next week

Pasco Convicted of Murder in First Degree

A Basin dispatch reports Lorenzo Pasco, a sheep herder who killed saloonman Charles Cole at Lovell on October 30, was found guilty of murder in the first degree. The penalty is death. Cattlemen Seek Clemency in Brink Murder Case

The Basin reports November 19 that Herbert L. Brink, convicted of first degree murder for the Spring Creek killings of Allemand Emge and Lazier, may have his sentence reduced from death to twenty years.
