Will Build Their Own Dyke In Reclamation Project

Natrona County High two literary societies debate

The Caspersians and the B. B. S. of Natrona County High School held a Friday program on December 3 with a debate on whether forefathers were justified in their treatment of American Indians. The Caspersians won the ruling in support of the negative. An invitation from Laramie schools for a field and rhetorical contest next May was extended, and the faculty and students welcome more visitors at future meetings.

Hunters Missing After Snow Bound Trip at Fremont Peak

Lander residents fear for William Hobbs and Dr. Paget after they failed to return from a hunting expedition to Fremont Peak. Paget arrived home after a grueling snowshoe journey. Hobbs remains with the party as rescuers search through five feet of snow, Hobbs feeding horses by felling trees for fodder.

Dr. Frank H. H. Rogers of the University of Denver submits that Annie Laurie was written in 1870 by William Douglas of England. He notes Annie was the daughter of Sir Maxwell Laurie of Scotland and cites Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Aurora Leigh for the famed quotation about Earth’s heaven and the bush.

Wool freight reform and public works discussed at Casper club

The Casper Industrial Club debated wool freight charges, proposing a flat 2 per car handling fee to enable fairer bidding, with a committee to approach the railroad. A pump station plan from Pathfinder dam was referred to Congress representatives.
