Reduced Grain and Hay Rates Sustained by ICC

The Interstate Commerce Commission sustained reduced rates on grain grain products and hay in the trans Mississippi territory and set December 27 as the effective date. The cuts average about 16 1 4 percent of 1920 rates and corn and other coarse grains face 10 percent lower transport costs than wheat. The order followed petitions from 16 western states and agricultural groups while railroads sought a rehearing and offered a general 10 percent cut nationwide.

Leg Broken in Plane Landing West of Laramie
