United States Fishing Boats Forfeited in Canada

Three small United States boats from Washington state were forfeited to the crown by Justice Martin in an Admiralty Court after being found fishing in Canadian waters last July. They will be auctioned for the Dominion’s fisheries department. The craft were attached to the cruiser Malaspina in Queen Charlotte Sound. Fishermen said dense fog caused the crossing.

Quiet game ends in attempted robbery near Cheyenne

Sergeant Gustav Weltz of Fort D. A. Russell won 200 dollars in a Cheyenne game then faced a highwayman who pressed a pistol and demanded more. Weltz identified J. Lloyd as the suspect after escaping with the money and alerted police. Lloyd denies the robbery charge.

Natrona and Sheridan Decide on State Hospital Offers

Natrona county has given no intimation to the state board of charities that it will take the offer to purchase the Casper branch hospital for one dollar, with January 1 as the effective date. Sheridan county has accepted the offer for the Sheri dan hospital and will take over January 1. The state will cease operating the Casper hospital regardless of Natrona’s decision. Other counties have invested heavily in local hospitals, highlighting Casper and Sheridan as notably advantageous deals for nominal sums.
