Dalrymple Receives Eleven Day Jail Term

Thomas Dalrymple, intoxicated, abused his wife in Dunreith last Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to drunkenness and was jailed for eleven days. Rush county fair directors offer a ten dollar first prize and five dollar second prize to a boy under sixteen who raises and exhibits the fattest calf under one year at this fall’s fair.

Carthage Telephone Co announces free service with Watts System for subscribers starting March 1 1906. Rules require subscribers to pay regular tolls for calls to non-subscribers or to parties in towns not covered by the free service. Van Hood signs as manager.

Bundy Leads Assault to Capture Mt Dajo in Philippines

Major Omar Bundy of the 6th Infantry U S A led attacking columns in the battle against Moros in the Philippines. American forces stormed and captured Mt Dajo, a 2100 foot lava cone with a crater summit, steep slopes and 50 ridges defended by Moros. All defenders were killed, about 600 bodies found, ending a band of raiders. Bundy, a Henry County native, was unwounded and his wife Adda Harden accompanied him in the Philippines. Martha Holland sold a Grant City lot for 95 dollars.
