Harris N Thornburg born Randolph County North Carolina June 4 1835 died April 1 1896 at age 60 years 9 months seven days. Married Emily Bowen December 25 1859 eight children seven surviving. Fell ill March 26 and died after four years invalidism. Last remarks praised the Lord and spoke of going home. His chief concern was the welfare of his daughter Dahlia.

Town Marshal Moves to Open Street Over Rail

The Town Marshal acted on orders to open streets over the railroad on Wednesday but was blocked by the station agent and section hands who tore up planks. He arrested the crowd and brought them before Squire Benjamin for obstructing the crossing and damaging town property. Prosecutor Young, aided by Attorney Newby, presented witnesses to prove guilt while a dispatch from Attorney Gogill asked a suspension of hostilities until Thursday afternoon. cases were held for advisory decision. The town plans to open the streets at once and settle the dispute afterward.
