Deer Spotted Near Terre Haute by Local Worker

Mason Horsley, a Terre Haute resident, spotted a deer within a hundred yards of his home south of the city. The animal jumped two fences before vanishing, marking Terre Haute’s first deer sighting in the area though previously seen near Greencastle. Officials say liberated native deer are gradually expanding in Indiana.

Knightstown Korn Karnival Set for October Weekend

Knightstown Conservation club sponsors a three day Korn Karnival in downtown Knightstown October 2 3 and 4. The event features rides booths music vaudeville acts and a large corn show with pumpkin prize. Proceeds fund Sunset Park upgrades and locals host a neighborly festival with a diamond ring prize. Thomas Howard was arrested Monday night on an affidavit for a warrant sworn by his wife Beulah for assault and battery. He was tried in the J. P. court and fined 25 dollars plus costs of 6 dollars, which he stayed by bond.

The restored Pioneer Village at Spring Mill State Park attracts thousands of autumn visitors from Indiana and beyond. Hugh A. David School Reunion Held at Holt Grove

The David school reunion gathered Sunday at Robert Holt grove, southeast of Carthage, with a noon pitch-in meal and an afternoon program. Passion Play At Murat Theatre

The Black Hills Passion Play comes to Indianapolis for a limited run at Murat Theatre October 7 to 16 presented by the Indianapolis Lions Club. The production features Josef Meier as Christus with a 500 member company, Arabian horses and camel scenes set on Lookout Mountain.
