A fire at 8:30 a.m. damaged the Jones family home on North East Street. Carthage volunteers fought the blaze in a clothes wardrobe room. insurance covers some loss. The family now resides at Carthage Apartments across the street.
Mr and Mrs Hugh Weber returned home last Friday after a weeklong trip to northern Michigan. They visited Mackinaw City Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island and enjoyed a boat ride through the locks.
The Conservation Club changes meeting dates from the second Thursday to the first Wednesday. The next gathering will be October 4, 1961.
