Eighth Annual Boy Scout Meeting at Walnut Ridge
The Walnut Ridge homecoming drew about two hundred attendees from Carthage and nearby meetings. Ira Johnson, over 85, preached a powerful sermon after Sabbath School, with a meal, reminiscences, and songs including a trio "I Have Been Alone With Jesus." Dozens of ministers, spouses, and congregants from Marion, Upland, Greenfield, Knightstown, Westland, Little Blue, Dublin, Shir ley, and Dublin joined the daylong event.

Rushville and surrounding towns joined in the 10th District Republican Rally at Memorial Gymnasium with motor cavalcades, colorful bands, and speeches by Fred Landis and Senator Arthur Robinson. Serious Automobile Accident Near Raysville Injures Mrs Hadley
Mrs. Murray Hadley of Indianapolis and her son David were in a serious crash on the National Road near Raysville last Saturday night around 9. The car left the pavement struck bridge abutments causing a skull fracture and facial injuries. Mrs. Hadley remained unconscious for hours but hopes for recovery grew as she was moved to Newcastle Clinic and planned for Methodist Hospital.
