Two Sentenced After Knightstown Auto Crash
Russell Lozier and Jack Smith were jailed by the sheriff after a Knightstown automobile crash. Lozier pleaded guilty to intoxication and driving while intoxicated, receiving fines and 120 days plus 50 days on costs. Smith pleaded guilty to not operating a car while intoxicated, with 80 days total and a 30 day sentence. The car occupants suffered injuries and a girl remained in custody.

Friends Chautauqua on Religious Education Planned
The first Friends chautauqua on Religious Education will run November 1–5 under the Indiana Yearly Meeting Committee. At the Friends Church in Carthage the program features talks by Percy M. Thomas, W. J. Sayers, E. T. Albertson, Frank C. Guyatt, and H. Clark Bedford. Meetings start at 7 30 oclock each evening.

Mrs James McCorkle Dies After Flu Pneumonia
Mrs Melissa M. McCorkle aged nearly 69 wife of James McCorkle died Tuesday at 6 45 PM at her home from flu pneumonia. She was born in Shelby county and lived in Greenfield twenty five years. Surviving are her husband three sons Alonzo Charles Loren one brother Sam Hardin and sister Mrs Jennie Whittaker. Funeral Thursday 2 30 PM at Wesleyan Methodist Church Rev J I Meyer officiated burial in Carthage Cemetery north of here.
