Rush county taxpayers are reminded by James Tarbet the county treasurer that Monday November 4 is the last day to pay taxes without delinquency penalties. A large portion of the semi annual bill remains unsettled though recent days have seen good collections at the treasurer's office. M E Homecoming at Fletcher Church Attracts Many
Fletcher M E church held homecoming and rally day on Sunday October 20 with 9 30 am service led by the pastor. Henry Stinger of Indianapolis and the church choir provided music as 132 registered for the morning program. A noon dinner in the league room drew 250 to 275 attendees. Permanent displays at Brown County and Jasper Pulaski state game preserves draw many visitors each summer. Virgil M. Simmons says the conservation department highlights bears foxes raccoons opossums coyotes hawks eagles pheasants and propagation efforts with additional shows of buffalo white tail and Japanese deer elk. Mrs C S Winslow and grandson Howard Jr spent Saturday in Indianapolis. Mr and Mrs How ard Winslow attended a dairy exposition there last Thursday. Born October 16 a daughter Joanne Lee to Mr and Mrs Dwight Coffin granddaughter of Abe Coffin and Ed Retherford. The first snow of the season fell October 19 with temperatures around 34 degrees.
