Two Year Old Falls From Window Fractures Skull

Ray Allen Stevens, son of Mr and Mrs John R Stevens, fell from an upstairs window Friday at 10 am, suffering a fractured skull. He was treated at Henry County hospital and released to home where he remains confined to bed.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Earnest held Sunday

Mr and Mrs Oliver Earnest attended the funeral at Wyatt Moore Memorial for Mrs Bessie Earnest who died Friday at Rush Memorial hospital at 130 am. Burial was in Arlington East Hill cemetery. Survivors include husband Roland a daughter Kathryn Swain of Posey Township three sons Howard Dallas and Robert of Rushville a brother Brainard Nelson of Morristown eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Forty nine men gathered to pick forty five acres of corn and sow fifteen acres of wheat on the Bever farm of the late Mr and Mrs Ercell Bever on Tuesday A noon dinner followed at East Street Christian church with many workers named including George Jackson Edward Jackson and George Apple The women named prepared and served the meals and were thanked for their contributions.
