Lynn Kennedy, Ball State student, plays in the All College Show Band which performed for President Johnson in Indianapolis. Admitted to Hospital After Accident
James Leisure aged 28 of Carthage was admitted to Rush Memorial Hospital after an 11:30 a.m. crash as a passenger in a car driven by Elizabeth Leisure. The sheriff said James suffered a concussion and a facial cut. Elizabeth told officers a squirrel crossed the road causing the brakes to be applied and the car to skid into a roadside tree.

August Livestock Slaughter Down in Indiana
Indiana’s August liveweight of all commercially slaughtered livestock reached 150.441 million pounds, down two percent from July. Cattle 69,500 head totaled 68.596 million pounds, seven percent below July. calves 6,600 head weighed 1.34 million pounds, four percent lower. Hog and sheep lamb slaughter rose to 79.704 million pounds and 701 thousand pounds respectively, with hogs up three percent and sheep and lambs seven percent higher than July.
