Carthage shows marked rise in tax payments over 1934 per county treasurer James Tarbet. Ripley township, Glenwood, Walker, and Orange townships lag behind last year with delinquent amounts. Farmer Struck by Auto East of Carthage on Saturday
Ed Rogers living on a farm east of Carthage was struck by Ralph Conner driving toward Sexton on the Mays Carthage road Saturday at noon. Rogers suffered a scalp wound and fractures in the left leg. he was taken to City hospital. Conner was held blameless.

Ewing Escapes Injury in Indiana Weekend Crash
Vernon Bill Ewing 19 of Carthage was arrested Sunday in Indianapolis for failure to have a drivers license after his car collided with a car driven by Louis Grifford 33. Esther Justin 19 of Thornton rode with Ewing. Both Grifford and Justin were treated for head injuries. Ewing escaped injury.

Auto accident reported near Meridian street junction
Mr and Mrs E D Lewis of here were in a Sunday 4 PM collision at the junction of South Meridian street and State Road 236 south of Andersen. Both cars were badly damaged with the other vehicle overturning. An elderly couple from Anderson occupied the other car. Mr Lewis of Fairmount was summoned to drive his parents home after police returned them to Anderson. Mrs Lewis suffered bruises, others reported with little injury.
