Rush County Wells Electric Aid For Rural Farms
Rush county farmers have applied as a unit for government electrification aid. The Rural Electrification Administration will fund large projects, with Rush County eighteenth nationally and Boone County first. The EHFA will back low rate financing and long payment terms for house and barn wiring, pumps, ranges, and farm machinery to speed rural electrification.

Fire Sparks Burn Roof of Walter Phelps Home
A spark from the chimney set a small fire on the roof of Walter Phelps residence Monday near noon. A few shingles burned but damage was minor. neighbors and a town fire engine arrived as flames were nearly extinguished after about 15 minutes.

Obituary: Riley D. Bogue 95 Dies at Home
Riley D. Bogue aged 95 died at his Rush County home Monday afternoon after a brief illness. Born and raised in Rush County he married Carrie Downey. Survived by widow three daughters Lora Gurley Ruth Brown Lillie Kephart one son Noland Bogue two sisters Rhue Ann Gilson Lou Ann Forsyth and a half sister Nora Ellison. Funeral services were held at the late residence Thursday afternoon with burial in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.

Gurney L. Hunt 61 died suddenly at home after leaving for a bridge game. A Navy veteran, he was exempted from the draft by Secretary Daniels and later served as chief accountant at the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts before retiring in 1933. He is survived by widow Millie L. Hunt a daughter Mabel G. Hunt and sister Florence B. Hunt. He was born in Martinsville Ohio and was an Odd Fellow and Friends church member.
