Seven gamblers indicted in Hancock County pleaded guilty on Friday at the socialite Plantation club crackdown. They paid fines totaling 640 dollars and were advised to move proceedings to Marion County if residents.

William T Boone age 87 former Carthage resident dies at daughter Mrs Sittons Greenfield home after living with son Edgar Boone who predeceased him. Survived by son William A Boone in Celina Indiana daughter Mrs Sitton five grandchildren two great grandsons. Funeral held Saturday at Sitton residence Greenfield conducted by Rev H M Reed with interment Park Cemetery.

Short funeral services were held Monday at Mrs Reddick’s home with burial in Metamora.

This was Rush county’s first major fire since April 5, 1936.

Carthage High School staged the operetta Hollywood Bound at the Auditorium Theatre on Tuesday night. The Vericolor Studios themed plot followed a new inventor of color pictures amid a race horse theft mystery solved by two Chinese detectives with a one week arc. Mrs. Harold Phelps directed with piano by Mrs. A J Carr. local children between acts added charm and 58 tickets brought in 24.50.
The Carthage Service Club held its bi monthly meeting at East St. Christian church with twenty one members present. John Carney owner and manager of Carney stores spoke about the Passion Play production in Germany and the cooperation of locals in ten year preparations. New members A B Thompson funeral director and Louis Hurt grocer were voted in. Next meeting will host Cambridge City Kiwanis members on December 6.

Rabbits may be sold but taking or selling quail or other game birds is illegal. possession limits are ten rabbits per day and twenty in one day for any rabbits brought into the state. Quail bag limit is ten per day. selling or buying any quail is prohibited except as allowed to guests during open season.
