Brotherhood and Sisterhood to Elect Officers at Carthage Meeting

Carthage Brotherhood and Sisterhood will meet Monday night November 20 at 7 30 at the Community Center. Officers for the coming year will be nominated then and elected by ballot at the December meeting. Members approved extending the mileage limit from twenty five to forty miles for new members. Attendance urged.

Seaman Roberts Visits Home From U S Constellation

Seaman Thomas A. Roberts of New York spent Veterans' Day weekend with his wife and relatives. Sunday evening his wife, his mother Mrs. Hazel Roberts, and Virginia Stearns accompanied him to the airport where he left by plane for New York. He is assigned to the ship U S Constellation in port there.

A capacity crowd watched Knightstown Panthers defeat Carthage 63 to 58 in the opening game. Chase and Stearns led Knightstown with 17 and 18 points while Jordan tallied 17 for Carthage. Carthage’s bench fell 39 17 in the curtain-raiser. fouls and free throw woes hurt the locals.

Revival Meeting Scheduled at Walnut Ridge Friends

Mr and Mrs Charles Whitfield and Gary Clayton attend Purdue Michigan State in Lafayette while Indiana families visit relatives in Rushville Bloomington and Dugger. Southeast and Indiana rivers yield stronger fishing report

Fishing in the region shows better results than last week with Large and Smallmouth Bass taken from Flat Rock and Driftwood Rivers using surface baits. Catfish are common, and overall fishing improves across East Fork White River. Hindustan Falls and White River report clear water and good catches of Perch Crappies Smallmouth Bass and Channel Cat. In central Indiana Morse Geist Sugar Creek Raccoon report clear water and solid Crappie and Channel Cat action, while White River is murky with carp. Northeastern Indiana sees few anglers with crappie and bluegill catches. a 742 lb Walleyed Pike was reported in St. Joe River DeKalb County. Northwestern Indiana reports clear lakes and streams with Catfish Bluegill Crappie Smallmouth Bass Northern Pike and Goggle Eye. St. Joe River at South Bend clear. Lake Freeman and Shafer fair with some catfish on cheese bait and shad.

Knightstown Panthers Open 61-62 Campaign With Varsity Victory

The Knightstown Panthers opened the 1961-62 season strong by defeating Carthage 68-58 in the varsity game. The Panther reserves handled Carthage 39-17, with Chase scoring four of five third quarter shots to pull away. Gatewood fouled out early, hampering Carthage’s defense as errors and fouls plagued both sides.
