Rally Day will be held Sunday November 18 at 9 30 a m at Carthage Fletcher Methodist Church. A special program is planned with an attendance goal of 165. Everyone is invited to attend this service.
Mrs. Gerald Andis of Westland entered Rush Memorial hospital Monday for surgery.
Guy Ewing underwent surgery at Rush Memorial hospital on Tuesday and is progressing as well as expected.
Mrs Joanna Gibson Mrs Goldie Stewart and Mrs Ethel Adkins of Mays Mrs Jennie Newhouse and Mrs Cornelia Beher of Rushville attended the Cinerama theatre in Cincinnati Tuesday.
About 150 members registered for the 10th District meeting of the Young Peoples group. An evening meal was served at the Community Center, with the business session conducted at East Street Christian Church and again at the Community Center.
J. W. Robins of Anderson serves as relief agent at the Big 4 depot while regular agent J. F. Baker has left for Rushville. Baker had been stationed there for more than a year.

Booth 67 sponsored by the Indianapolis Civil War Round Table features a 4 by 8 foot framed panel of Civil War relics loaned by Henry L. Stinger. The exhibit is two aisles right of the main entrance in the Manufacturers Building and runs through Sunday November 18.
The Citizen clarifies a report about Mrs Hollis Williams of Knightstown that claimed leg amputations occurred after an accident. She remains in Henry County hospital and is recovering well. neighbors and friends from Carthage are urged to visit.

The marriage of Mrs. Anna Troy and Mr. Edward J. Finkelstein of St. Petersburg Florida occurred Monday October 29 in the chapel of Christ Methodist church. The couple went to their home at 2880 24th Street North and a round forty friends hosted a house warming that evening.
The Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority will meet Tuesday evening November 20 with a dinner at the Durbin Hotel in Rushville. An initiation service will take place.
Rush County farmer Floyd Hiner is named World Corn King at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto reclaiming the crown after a 1954Reserve World title. He has multiple earlier honors including 1941 co win and 1953 solo International Corn King, with family ties to former corn prince and princess. the Hiners operate a large farm north of Mays.
The Carthage PTA met on Tuesday evening November 13 at the school building. A large group of parents gathered in the gym. Elmer Fenner reported on playground equipment and a Turkey supper smorgasbord was proposed for December. The Community Center board plans a canteen for neighborhood children and seeks PTA cooperation. decision on this project to come at the next meeting.
The late Susan L. Hill's will probated at New Castle leaves 1000 dollars to the Friends Church of Carthage, 500 dollars to the Friends Church of Knightstown, and 5000 dollars to Riverside Cemetery west of Carthage. The estate's balance goes to a trust with the State Bank of Carthage, with income to Mrs. Adeline Hill Toms and Weldon E. Neylin. Howard E. Henley is executor.

The Ripley Township Conservation Club sponsors a Turkey and Pheasant Shoot on Sunday November 18 at the Mrs Harry Stacey farm two miles north of Carthage on the Carthage Knights town Pike. It opens to the public at 10 30 a m and a shotgun will be given away at a future turkey spot on December 16. Conservation members have tickets to support the project.
The Rushville event featured Earl C. Townsend Jr. of Indianapolis explaining birdstones as precursors to the bow and arrow. Miss Linda Winkler sang two numbers with Miss Bonnie Rucker at the piano, and officers were reelected during the business session.

Herman Robbins of Charlottesville attends the 4 H Tractor Program Leaders Clinic at Purdue University to train as a county leader for Rush County Indiana. The clinic covers maintenance, care and operation of tractors and implements for 50 counties each year. Robbins has long 4 H involvement and earned a 1955 trip to National 4 H Club Congress for soil conservation.
