Knightstown leader William Hall dies of heart attack
William N. Hall 48, Knightstown civic figure and longtime Chevrolet dealer for Knightstown and Shirley, died Thursday of a heart attack at his home west of Knightstown. Funeral was held Sunday at St. Rose of Lima, burial in Lewisville cemetery. Hall served as Kiwanis vice president and program chairman, Memorial Park board member, Chamber of Commerce director, and past Legion commander. Surviving widow Jane, mother Linnie of Lewisville, three children Hawley Nugen and Juanita, two brothers Robert and George, two sisters Laura Jean Klute and Catherine. Hall served in WWII and was active in local organizations.

Local Soldier Promoted to Private First Class in Korea
Donald R. McColley of Carthage has been promoted to private first class while serving with the 45th Infantry Division in Korea. The division, originally an Oklahoma National Guard unit, arrived in Korea last December and fought on T-Bone hill in June. McColley joined Korea service last July as a machine gun squad leader with the 179th Infantry Regiment. formerly worked for General Motors in Anderson, Indiana.
