Checks totaling 712 006 98 were mailed to sixty eight county treasurers for November property tax installments of the Public Service Company of Indiana Northern Indiana Power Company and affiliates. The largest payment, 578 344 79, went to fifty eight counties for the Public Service Company of Indiana. Spring installments mailed in May brought 1934 total company taxes to 1 437 606 09 plus state gross income tax and a federal 3 percent energy tax.

Carthage Bluebirds lose a hard fought contest to Arlington Wildcats 21-20 on Friday. Carthage led early and showed steady shooting but costly third quarter mistakes and a late Arlington rally sealed the defeat. Hufford scored the go ahead basket after a scramble, ending the game.
Mrs Verna S Hill hosted a birthday dinner for Mrs Eliza beth J Hill celebrating her 90th birthday on Monday. Guests included Mr and Mrs Franklin E White from near Charlottesville Mr and Mrs Howard Brown and family from Arlington and Mr and Mrs Frank King. The day brought flowers cards telegrams and greetings from friends. Mrs Hill was announced on WLW in the Cheerio program naming her age.
The town adopts Ordinance No. 8 barring anyone under fifteen from streets and public places after 8 p m. Violators face fines from 50 cents to five dollars or confinement by the marshal for two to twenty four hours. J A Lineback, Clerk.
Ford dealers Ewing and Wever of Knightstown produced two theater shows, Ford and a Century of Progress and Rapsody in Steel, drawing large audiences Friday night. Mr. Harry Pitts, sick with rheumatism, has improved but remains bedfast.
The church reports a strong gas well after cleaning, promising warmth this winter. A Thanksgiving pitch-in dinner is planned for November 18 with a program to follow. Weekly mid week services, choir rehearsal, missionary society event, and Armistice day program are scheduled. A union temperance service features Rev. J. F. Jenner. Epworth League presents Where's Grandma next Tuesday at the Auditorium Theatre with varied cast and admission.
Indiana day will be observed in special services Sunday morning with talks by Board members and the young people's society. The theme is Indiana for Christ and the sermon is Our Part in the Five Year Program. A community union temperance program follows Sunday night at the Methodist church with Bible school at 9 30 and The Lord's Supper and Preaching at 11 30.

Revival interest is good and several have received definite help. The first Quarterly Meeting of the Conference year will be held at 7:30 p m Saturday and Sunday with Rev H Kercheval in charge. Bible school at 9:30 and Morning Worship at 10:30. Evangelistic service at 7:30 and Prayer and Praise on Tuesday at 7:00. Test our welcome.
Fletcher M. E. Church youth group travels by bus to Milroy for the Epworth League Rally and returns with the loving cup for the largest attendance.
Five youths were arrested in Rushville and jailed in Carthage after confessing to their role in destroying cemetery monuments. Abraham Lincoln Johnson and Max Brooks plead not guilty. three others pleaded guilty. Damages at the cemetery exceeded $1,000. Prosecutor Marshall and Sheriff Compton led the actions with Judge Titsworth presiding.
The Walnut Ridge Quarterly Blue River Church hosts a Saturday meeting with Rev. Ira Johnson of Lynn and Rev. Aaron Napier of Winchester. Rev. James Furbay speaks on Evangelism in the afternoon. Next week conferences run Tuesday to Thursday at Charlottesville Walnut Ridge and Little Blue with three daily sessions. Speakers include Rev. Wm. J. Sayers of Richmond Rev. Donald Spittler of Spiceland Rev. Erol Elliot of Richmond and Rev. James Furbay.
