Several young people from Carthage Meths and Christian Churches attended services at St. Rose Catholic Church in Knights Town last Sunday, reflecting community religious participation.
Albert Ray entered Rush Memorial Hospital Friday for tests treatment and observation. Mrs Arthur White entered Rush Memorial Hospital the first of the week.

Teachers and pastors of Carthage Friends hosted a Halloween party Monday evening for classes one through four. Thirty five children attended as they conducted games sang together and enjoyed refreshments.
Pvt. William R. Todd, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Todd of Carthage Indiana, recently completed the basic Army administration course at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. The program covered typing Army clerical procedures and record keeping following his June enlistment and a 1956 Carthage High School graduation.
The Girls' Athletic Association hosted a masked Hallowe'en party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Lukens on Tuesday night with thirty eight members present. Charles Morris Rev C L Davis and Maurice Lukens served as judges.

Earl Nowotne sold his 66 Filling Station business as of November 1 to Joe and Carl Kline after twenty years in business. The Nowotnes plan to move to Florida and sell their home to Bruno and Maria Lapato.
Twin Pines resident Miss Carol Ewing at Purdue University has been selected as a candidate for queen for Home Coming Saturday. The announcement highlights her as a leading entrant among contenders for the pageant.
The Carthage Legion Auxiliary will hold its regular gathering Monday night at the Community Center. Hostesses for the event are Mrs. Mary Frances Gatewood and Mrs. Hilda Sandefur.
The Senior Class will serve a chicken supper at Carthage School Cafeteria on Friday night before and after the Carthage New Salem basketball game. Serving begins at 5 p m and continues around the game.

The Carriage P T A hosted its annual Halloween party at the Community Center on Wednesday night October 31. A parade around town ended at the fountain square for judging and prizes. Last Wednesday groups of Miss McShirley’s art class students drew Halloween paintings on business house windows. They were judged Thursday by Mae Moore Maxine Carroll and Josephine Stevens with prizes of 1 50 for first 1.00 for second and 0.50 for third. Group A awards went to 7th grade and up with first to 7th grade second to sophomores and third to G A A Group B first to 6th grade second to 2nd grade and third to 3rd grade
A Hallowe en party for the Junior Sunday School class was held Monday evening at the Wesleyan Methodist Parsonage. Prizes were awarded to Jimmy Stevens Cheryl Magee Marilyn Pitts and Michael Gorman.
