Automobile Stolen Here Recovered at Brookville
Marvin Brammel’s car stolen from the Container Corporation plant parking lot after his 11:00 p.m. shift was recovered at Brookville on Wednesday. The vehicle, found abandoned 45 miles away on State Road 52, had no damage beyond being out of gas and oil. Town Marshal King reported the theft to Sheriff Grinstead and the state police.

Ripley Grower Wins Gold Medal for Ton Litter
Glennie Mann of Ripley township is among 17 Rush County growers to qualify for a Gold Medal with a ton litter. Thirteen individuals weighed 23 litters nominated by the Hoosier Ton Litter Club after farrowing last spring. Seventeen of 23 litters weighed over a ton at 175 days, earning their owners the gold medal per Purdue hog specialist John Schwab and the county extension office report.

Funeral services held for Mrs. Maurice Risk
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home at 2 30 pm for Mrs. Maurice Risk 66 who died Friday morning at her northwest Carthage home after a five year illness. Dr J T Scull of Fletcher Methodist church led the service with solos by Mrs H T Beher and Mrs Robert Spangler accompanied by Miss Charlotte Moore. Casketbearers were George Leisure Harry Leisure Hugh Weber Cecil Pike Hoyt Addison and Albert Terhune. She was born August 25 1879 in Switzerland county and resided here 33 years. She was married in 1912 to Maurice Risk and is survived by the husband a brother Albert Peters of near Rushville and two sisters Mrs Catherine Miles of Knights Town and Mrs Charles Pommerehn of Cross Plains.
