Mrs. Anna Jones of Arlington died May 20 at Major Hospital Shelbyville after a fall and hip fracture. A 77 year old lifelong county resident, she was daughter of Hugh S Beale Freehart, widow of Ezekial Jones, former Bush County sheriff. Survived by brother William Freehart and niece Margaret Freehart of Rushville. Services were held at her Arlington home Friday at 2 pm with Rev Gladys Marsh and Rev Gibson Wilson presiding. burial in East Hill Cemetery.

Postmaster for a Day or Two in Hanover Township
Mrs Gladys I Cox who has served as acting postmaster for months was asked to resign her permanent appointment by wire. Representative Finly Gray had recommended her on May 19. Supporters of at least two other candidates for the permanent job have contacted Gray in recent days. One candidate is a lifelong Hanover township resident and a Democrat. The other is Carl Kluger, longtime resident of the township.

Two Boys Escape Serious Injury After Car Wreck East of Carthage
William Moore of Muncie and Myron Clark of Muncie escaped serious harm Friday night when their car struck loose gravel and overturned into George Apple’s pasture east of Carthage. Myron Clark suffered hand lacerations needing stitches. William Moore was uninjured. The boys’ parents thank Horace Foust and others for assistance.
