Death of Cicero Hackleman Aged 72 At Home
Cicero Morton Hackleman 72 retired farmer and respected Ripley township resident died Sunday at 5:00 am from a stroke suffered a week earlier. Born October 18 1862 in Ripley he married Hattie Call in 1884 and leaves three sons Carl Court and Richard and three grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday at 2:00 pm at his Blue River Baptist church and burial in Glen Cove cemetery Knightstown.

East street Christian church Duo Class met at Harold Ruby home last Wednesday with twenty three members present. After business and games the group planned a follow up at Claude Sipe home for a pitch-in supper next Wednesday inviting all young married people to attend.

Senior class play draws near full seats at auditorium
Practically all seats sold for the Senior class play The Movies Come to Town at the Auditorium Theatre this Friday evening. Baccalaureate services will be held there Sunday night April 21 with Dr James R Furbay delivering the sermon and the high school glee club providing music. An open house and school work exhibit drew large crowds last Sunday and Monday with praise for work across all departments. Monday night featured songs from grades one through seven, a sixth grade flag drill, an eighth grade playlet and a harmonica band.

130 in attendance last Sunday with offerings over $130 surpassing a dollar per person. The school’s Bible School offering, $115.63, will help pay down the building debt as excess proceeds and hard times are noted. A “Victory Day” is planned for Sunday with sunrise prayers, Easter breakfast, Bible School, and a decision service led by Dr. James R. Furbay and Anna Jean Kizer.

Easter revival at Flecte M E Church draws big attendance
The FLETCHE M E Church hosts a pre Easter revival nightly for two weeks with Miss Evelyn Garten directing the Junior church and playing the Marimba. About 40 children attend daily as Morristown harmony singers join Friday night for a 7:00 start and an Easter egg hunt is planned Saturday at 2:30 for junior attendees. Easter Sunday features Sunday school at 9:30 and morning worship at 10:35 with a special Marimba solo and Junior church singing.
