Leora M. Foster 87 widow of David S. Foster died at her granddaughter’s home near Milton after a fall last August. Born October 12 1874 in Franklin County Indiana she was married to George W. Jackson who died in 1932. She leaves two granddaughters Ruth Ann Myers and Maxine Crawley ten great grandchildren a sister Pearl Garner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Fisher Mortuary Cam and Maple Grove Cemetery Brookville.

Mrs. Katie G. Matlock 71 of Greenfield rural died at Hancock Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born June 2, 1890 in Hancock County to Marquis and Laura Alyea Jones she lived in the community all her life. She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church and a charter member of Shiloh Ladies Aid. Survived by husband Charles H. Matlock seven children and numerous grandchildren. one sister Alma Davis of Tampa. One daughter preceded her in death.

Knightstown Tavern Manager's Death Ruled Suicide
Robert Daly 61, manager of the Gay Spot Tavern in Knightstown, was found shot to death last Wednesday morning. Deputy coroner Dr Leonard Wiatt ruled it a self-inflicted death after Daly left a note citing personal problems. A .22 caliber pistol lay near the body. Cecil Brunson heard the 6:30 a.m. shot and found Daly. Daly had led the Gay Spot for 18 months and lived in Knightstown 14 years, formerly a building contractor, survived by six siblings in Indiana, Kentucky, and Texas.

Recruit Gulley completes Navy boot camp at Great Lakes
