Samuel Hill age 74 a noted railroad builder died in Portland Oregon after an intestinal influenza illness with other complications. He was born in North Carolina and long associated with Quakers aiding Newberg Oregon by funding a church home for the local Friends Society. He was a cousin of Edgar N Hill and Walter B Hill and had visited them in Seattle and Knights Town. Mr and Mrs Russell Nigh and Mrs Alice Macy were mentioned in surrounding notes of visits and shopping.
