Manlief Found Dead in Bed Aged 66 at Daughter's Home
Oren Elmer Manlief, 66, resident five years, was found dead Sunday morning in his daughter Mrs Charles Weaver's home from a self inflicted head wound with a revolver. Coroner J M Lee cites poor health as cause. he died Saturday evening while family was uptown. He survived by three daughters Mrs Weaver Mrs John Hobbs Mrs Grover Ennis of Rushville and a son Benjamin Manlief of Connersville. Funeral at Wesleyan Methodist Church Tuesday at ten. Burial at East Hill Arlington.

A Sunday morning fire struck the Presbyterian church in Mays around 9 30. Damage is estimated at 1000 dollars before Pumper company No 2 from Rushville arrived to control the blaze. A Carthage fire fighter assisted but was not required. The basement burned due to a furnace origin as a bucket brigade fought the flames. The heat damaged the floor seats and decorations.
