Student moves between Pittsburgh and Madison for study

Skit “Roll Call” at Nazarene Church Sunday Evening

The Young People's Society will present a skit titled Roll Call this Sunday March 5 at 6 30 p m at the Nazarene Church. The public is invited Supt Robert Winters of the Fletcher Methodist Church awarded two perfect attendance pins during the Sunday School hour Sunday Joey Terhune received an eight year pin and Paul Livingstone a one year pin for perfect attendance.

Florida Trip Returns From Enjoyable Florida Vacation

Mr and Mrs Virgil Roland of Greenfield and Mr and Mrs Russell Roland of Carthage returned Friday from a two week vacation in Florida They visited Clearmont Winter Garden Orlando Silver Springs St Petersburg Sarasota Cypress Gardens Cape Kennedy Daytona Beach Marineland and St Augustine with guided tours in Cape Kennedy and St Augustine Gary A McClurg of Carthage has completed four years at Ball State University majoring in Business Administration and will work in Western Electric Indianapolis He will receive his degree in June and is married to Charlotte Mercer, a local teacher.

Funeral rites held for Mrs. Mattie Schoolfield 89

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning for Mrs. Mattie Schoolfield 89 mother of Dr. N I Schoolfield of Princeton Indiana and former Fletcher Methodist Church minister 1932 35. She lived most of her life in Orleans with survivors including husband E I Schoolfield two daughters Mrs John Waller of Kansas and Mrs Phil Wesner of Paoli and two sons Dr N I Schoolfield Princeton and Dr William E Schoolfield Orleans. Burial was in Newtonville Indiana cemetery.

Falls and Injures Her Leg Friday

Mrs. Mary Nelson fell at her Arlington home last Friday and was moved to her sister’s Greensburg residence then taken to Greensburg hospital. A separate note recalls a birthday party hosted by Mrs. Paul Livingstone for her son Paul’s sixth birthday on March 1 with sixteen guests, gifts for Lori Alexander and Sheila Cole, and a Superman cake.

Flower and Patio Show Opens in Indiana State Fair Building

The ninth annual Flower and Patio Show hosted by The Indianapolis Star opens Saturday at the Indiana State Fair Manufacturers Building. Rush County Music Festival Comes Together Next Friday

Reddick Couple to Observe 60th Wedding Anniversary

Mr and Mrs Floyd Reddick of R 2 Carthage plan a March 6 1967 observance marking 60 years since their marriage at the Carthage Christian Church parsonage. They reside on their farm and are parents to three Genstiees Tarra Geise and Lucille Reeves plus son Roy Reddick six grandchildren and five great grandsons. A family dinner was held February 26 at the Reddick home.

Morristown Wins Sectional Tourney Crown In Final

Bowman, 85, of New Castle, dies at Henry County Hospital

Gola Bowman aged 85 from New Castle died Friday February 17 at Henry County Hospital. He was husband of the late Oma Bowman and brother-in-law of Elmina Parish and John Miner of Carthage. The Bowmans were longtime owners in the area.

Morristown High Crushes Carthage Raiders in Semi Final

Morristown High School defeated Carthage 92 to 71 in the Rushville Sectional semifinal. The Yellow Jackets pulled ahead 22 to 7 by halftime as Carthage struggled with nine first-half errors and only six rebounds. Morristown shot 22 of 49 while Carthage made 8 of 29 as the Raiders failed to adjust to Morristown’s fast pace and ball movement.

Rushville National Bank files two suits on notes against Lowell McCorkle Route 2 Carthage and Gathel McCorkle. First suit notes a security agreement signed October 16 1965 for 1769 with no payments since 1966. Repossessed items included an auto TV and camera sold August 1966. Deficit 1268 plus 423 attorney’s fee requested. Second suit covers a January 196? personal installment loan of 349.38 with no payments after June. Balance due 319 and 107 attorney’s fee requested.
