The 7th annual state championship duplicate bridge tournament will be held in Indianapolis March 10 11 and 12 sponsored by Phillips 66. Open to Indiana residents four person teams compete with Grace C Buschmann in charge. Top prize includes one year with the state championship trophy 100 dollars cash and permanent trophy caps plus many smaller cups for high scores.

Conservation Dept exhibit at Hoosier Sportsman's Show opens
The Indiana Department of Conservation will display deer, game birds, and fishes at the Hoosier Sportsman's Show starting Saturday at the state fair grounds. The seven thousand square foot exhibit features a silver beech cab style wall, a large deer corral from Brown County, twelve game bird pens, twenty four aquariums, fifteen color photographs of state parks, and wardens plus an information desk for wildlife stamps and general operations questions.

Prominent Gwynneville Man Dies After Illness
John R. Unger aged 34 died at 3 45 p m Sunday at his Gwynneville area home after about two years of heart disease and related ailments. Born January 8 1905 in Hanover two he married Esther Nigh January 26 1924 and leaves two daughters Barbara Marie and Beverly Lee, parents sister and brother plus relatives in Carthage and Morristown. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm at Gwynneville A B church with Rev Roy Laswell officiating. burial in Asbury Cemetery.

Funeral Services Held for Mrs Ella Gurley
The 84 year old Mrs Ella Gurley died Friday from injuries after a fall the prior Sunday. Funeral services were held Sunday at Walnut Ridge Church with Rev Hufford and Aldine Lantis in charge. Burial followed at Walnut Ridge cemetery. She is survived by two daughters Mrs Jessie Keppen of Indianapolis and Mrs Goldie Brohardt of Greenfield, two sons Tom Wall of Indianapolis and Ed Gurley of near Knightstown, three stepchildren Mrs Hurston Wilson near Greenfield Ray and Fred Gurley of Charlottesville, one sister Mrs Cobb and one half brother William Higby of Indianapolis.
