Carthage High Joins Indiana State Fair Band Parade
Carthage high school officially entered the 1957 Indiana State Fair Band Parade and Contest to be held August 29 at the fairgrounds. Band No 58 under Harold V. Taylor will compete for a share of 760 in cash awards among the top 23 bands. A 46 member group with drum major will perform from the grandstand with free seating for 14 000 spectators. The 1956 contest saw Franklin High School win.

Arlington freshman Eddie Vandeventer Jr. 14 was hurt near Arlington when his bicycle drifted into a car driven by Richard Johnson 30.
