Freddie Howard has become manager of Miller's Sinclair Station recently, effective July 1. He purchased the station but will run it under the Miller lease until that lease ends.
Fred Flick of Rural Route 1 Carthage escaped serious injury Monday when his car was sideswiped by a milk truck driven by Mr Tweedy of Morristown. The truck owned by Harold Bass of Morristown sustained the collision on the road west of the Richard Harold home northwest of Carthage.
Misses Marcia and Wanda Leisure Dick Moore and Bob Stanley rode in a car that was crowded off the road at the S curve on the Knightstown Carthage pike Tuesday night. Roy Robertson telephoned that his son Max has been promoted to corporal and provided his address for letters at Cpl. Max L. Robertson 1533432 H S Co 1st BN 9th Marines 3rd Marine Division FMF FPO San Francisco California.
Mr and Mrs Fred Parish and Mr and Mrs Robert McKain attended the Indiana Kentucky All Star basketball game in Indianapolis Saturday night.
Mrs. Freddie Magee was discharged from Henry County Hospital and returned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maine Magee last Friday following a major operation.
Mrs Ercell Rhodes fell Saturday at her home in Carthage and broke her right arm just above the wrist. The injury was treated at Rush Memorial Hospital and she returned home Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Bruno Lupato of Carthage announce the birth of their daughter Anna Jane weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces at Rush Memorial Hospital on Saturday June 29. The new arrival joins siblings and brings joy to the family in this local milestone.

Mr and Mrs Charles Whitfield attended the meetings and banquet of the State Convention of Rural Letter Carriers held on the Wabash College campus in Crawfordsville. The convention ran Sunday Monday and Tuesday.
