Fifty five members gathered at the Carthage school for the Ripley Township Farm Bureau monthly meeting. Phillip Winslow recounted the Purdue 4-H Roundup where Rush County boys won horse judging and livestock sweepstakes, with Winslow taking Leadership prize. A plan formed to recognize the winning team. Ice cream and cookies followed.

Fire Damages Projection Booth at Alhambra Theatre
Patrons evacuated Knightstown's Alhambra theatre Monday as a fire confined to the projection booth damaged the sound system and film magazines. The origin traced to a projector magazine. Knightstown Fire Department contained the blaze. Manager Harry Watts said the theatre would reopen Thursday with a double feature Riders of the Purple Sage and Nazi Agent.

Indiana Prohibits Sale or Purchase of Game Fish
Indiana law forbids selling or purchasing nine game fish species including largemouth and smallmouth bass bluegill and rock bass. It also bans serving these species by hotels or restaurants except when legally taken by a guest. The prohibition applies to fish taken in or out of Indiana.

Mrs Bayard Baker reports her cousin Cons Sgt Ernest Earhart missing in action since the fall of Corregidor after leaving for the Philippine Islands in October. His mother and sister have not heard from him since Pearl Harbor. Earhart visited the Bakers three years ago with his mother and sister.
