Firm Buys Building Move Store Soon

Sharer and Moore purchased the Hill heirs building on Main and Mill streets to create a modern hardware store. Main street will hold hardware stock while Mill street displays stores and refrigerators. The current Sharer and Moore location, a hardware store since 1888, will shift stock into the new building after cleanup and new fixtures. The deal closed Tuesday June 9.

Daily Vacation Bible School Opens at Christian Church

The Daily Vacation Bible School begins June 15 at 8 30 a m at the Christian church for children ages three to twelve. Instructors cover junior and primary grades plus kindergarten with a full schedule from opening exercises to closing.

Thirty Three Graduate From I S S C Saturday

Thirty three graduates of the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home received diplomas during commencement last Saturday morning. Twenty were Senior graduates and thirteen industrial graduates. Dr. W. P. Dearing of Oakland City College delivered the address. W. V. Klipsch presented diplomas, and each graduate received a ten dollar bill from the Indiana American Legion, which also awarded wristwatches to outstanding girl and boy graduates Mildred Hosey and Robert Paul LeMaster.

Anderson buried Monday farmer and stock buyer dies

Herbert A. Anderson 62 a well known Carthage area farmer and stock buyer died Saturday morning in St. Vincent's hospital Indianapolis after three weeks there following an automobile accident. Survived by wife Anna a daughter Marjorie two sisters Nora and Elva Mattix three nieces and two nephews. Funeral at Walnut Ridge Friends church with Rev. Harry Reece in charge. Burial in Walnut Ridge cemetery.

Indiana Opens Bass Season With Large Catch Hopes

Indiana anglers gear up for the June 16 opening of black bass and other game fish. The rules set species limits and sizes, licenses required for adults, and a two day possession rule. Open season covers June 16 to August 31 for trout and various bass, bluegill, crappie, rock bass, and pike perches, with wardens patrolling to enforce limits. Funeral services for Mrs. Almira Smith 84 Saturday

Mrs. Almira Smith 84 died last Thursday after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 PM at the Fletcher M E church, with Rev. Wm B Collier and Rev. Geo Holwager officiating. Burial followed in Hanover cemetery near Morristown. Survivors include two daughters, three sons, and several grandchildren.

Amateur Night Draws Big Arlington Crowd at Posey

A large audience filled the Arlington school building last Thursday for an amateur program run by Posey township Home Economics club. Prizes went to Betty Bell Kemple for a song, Marshall and Eugene Gardner for guitar and singing, and Maxine Lee with Fern Isabell Brown for a blackface dialogue.

Posey Township 4-H Boys Meet Friday June 5

The Posey township 4-H club boys met Friday afternoon at Robert Maier's home with adult leader overseeing. Spencer Bogue, the president, led the session and M. J. Huxley, assistant county agent, gave an engaging talk. Plans were set for a Chamber of Commerce visitation tour on Tuesday followed by games and refreshments served by Mrs. Maier.
