Ruthann Terhune of Anderson Township won the 4-H Club Dress Revue at Rushville High School Gym attended by about 700. She will represent over 200 Rush County 4-H Clothing participants in the State 4-H Dress Revue on September 1. Shirley Smith of Ripley Township was named reserve champion and alternates to the State event. Ruthann wore a beige printed pongee sheath dress and a brown wool coat. Shirley wore a turquoise faille dress with black patent accessories.

New Look for Rush County Fair Opens July 30
Rush County Fair reveals a redesigned layout with a wider midway and concessions west of the livestock barns. New lighting and a water line serve the stands, a new secretary office donated by Mr and Mrs Ora Lower, two new parking areas, and space for car displays and merchant exhibits. The changes follow the high school construction and relocate midway and concessions to the Lower Community grounds.

District Gold Medal Swine Testing Show Planned in Connersville
A committee of representatives from five counties met at the county extension office in Connersville to plan the District Gold Medal Swine Testing Show to be held August 13 during the Connersville Fair. The event is sponsored by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and the Quaker Oats Company with twenty five litters entered. To qualify, litters must be enrolled in the Gold Medal Swine Testing project and reach weight gains by 56 days of age. A few litters from Rush County are expected to compete. Russell Dora and C. L.
